AND AWAY WE GO.................

Tomorrow night the GIANTS begin the defense of their title.  It will be a tough road with plenty of ups and downs.  The NFL may be the most unpredictable week to week sport in the world.  Looking at the stats, if this wasn't a divisional rivalry with a long rich history, I would predict a huge win.  Two new coordinators for the Redskins along with a rookie head coach.  A brand new offense with a young QB and a rebuilding injured defense.  Their big acquisition Jason Taylor will be a gametime decision.  Their new starting safety and cornerbacks have not practiced in weeks due to leg injuries.  They lost their week 3 and 4 pre-season games by a combined score of 71-3 when their starters played 3 quarters in each game.
Look for a more pass oriented attack from the Burgundy and Gold.  Jim Zorn the new head coach comes from a west coast style and will look for the quick passes and high completion percentage from his quarterback.  The linebackers will be busy and sure-tackling in the secondary will be a must.

As for our G-Men, I have a feeling that our defense will have a plan with a few wrinkles in it.  Look for Kiwanuka and Tuck to drop off into coverage to cut off some short passing lanes.  Pressure will still be our signature on defense, as well as a very stout run defense.

Offensively look for the three running backs to play in different situations.  Jacobs, Bradshaw and Ward.  Danny Ware and Reuben Droughns will be returning kicks, and McQuarters fielding punts.  Passes to Toomer, Smith and Burress will be deeper than usual....along with Boss running that familiar seam route down the middle of the field.

It should be fun and exciting.....the spread has gone from 3 to 4 1/2 in the past 2 days.
27-13.

Look for a new novel written by Mark Bavaro, it went on sale yesterday.
