The Ravens are #1 against the run. They give up an average of 65 yards a game.
The GIANTS are #1 running the ball. They average 169 yards a game.
This is a week to draw the safeties and the linebackers up tight, and then find Plaxico and Hixon in one-on-one coverage and complete big plays. The Ravens are a very tough physical team, but so are we. The offensive line will have the chance to prove how good they are by opening holes for Jacobs, Ward, and Bradshaw, and protecting Eli against the blitz.
The Defense will have to watch for plenty of trickery this week. The Ravens run a lot of this new Wild-Cat formation. They have a backup running QB that they bring in the game and line him up everywhere. Lots of reverses, direct snaps, and double passes along with unbalanced lines, and cut backs. They also have three running backs that they move in and out, but they have a very weak receiving corp and a rookie QB. Plenty of pressure this week to throw the rookie off his game and force a few mistakes. The GIANTS will try to force the new kid to beat them. They will stack the line and stop the run, be disciplined in their assignments, and see if the rookie from Delaware (7 TD, 7 INT) can put points on the board.
This will be low scoring and very physical. A very windy day is predicted for Sunday. Once again I believe turnovers and special teams can make the difference.
Giants favored now by 7.
I think they win by 4
Enjoy!
