ONE LAST TIME

This one is for pride, and a few jobs.  The Giants visit the Minnesota Vikings, losers of their last three games, Sunday at 1:00 Eastern.  The Vikings will be looking to right their ship, all puns intended, and lock up a first round bye in the playoffs.  Brett Favre was magnificent on Monday night, but the defense of the Vikings seems to have taken the month off.  The Giants say they are prepared, willing to play for pride and pride alone, and earn their paychecks this week.  We will see.  The key to beating the Vikings is to throw the ball as much as possible against their awful secondary.  They have some strong linebackers on the outside and a very good defensive line against the run.  They lost their middle linebacker a few weeks ago for the season.
The defense will have it's hands full with Favre.  He will complete a very high percentage of his passes, the trick is to make tackles, and keep the receivers in front of you.  The linebackers will have to perform at a very high level, and the pass rush must show up.

Either way this will be the end of the road for this team.  A very inconsistent frustrating season will end, and the work towards next year will commence Sunday evening.  Tom Coughlin and Jerry Reese have some decisions and planing to do, and I have the utmost confidence they will do it well.  They have become a non sentimental, business minded group and seem to always be prepared to make the tough decisions.

It will be an interesting off-season.  Please keep checking both the blog and pro football insight for updates on the draft, free agency, and coaching news.

Thank you for your time this year, this is always fun for me and I hope informational and enjoyable for my readers as well.

See you in the new stadium!
